Recent press

The articles are from the FT 22/05/10 House & Home supplement  and Crafts Magazine no. 224 May/June 2010, a good mixture of old and new. Not to sure about the ‘Mann Alive’ article title in Crafts and also the continuing reference to ‘Poster boy of…’ however my response to this will be seen on June 12th @ the Visual Research Centre in Dundee where I will give a lecture about my new body of work. On reflection, the majority of the reviews of Cross-fire has came from Design based sources rather than Craft. I’ve been asking myself why and actually there’s no immediate answer, perhaps due to the lack of ‘Craft’ outputs i.e. no daily blogs, 1 main magazine, etc… The work is now installed at the VRC in the DCA (don’t you love abbreviations) from the 10th June – 9th July.

Here’s a link to to a recent article on PLANET* magazine based New York. Thanks again to Nika Knight for the piece.

The Cross-fire series will be exhibited at the Dundee Contemporary Arts Centre in Scotland from June 5 – August 8 as part of the Craft Festival Scotland.

I’m currently working on 2-3 new pieces and a couple of re-editions of older work. I’ve also made the conscious decision to not exhibit/present work in a RP material if the subject matter has a ‘real’ associated material. This has come about from just feeling underwhelmed by every new technology application of recent. More to follow regarding this…
