I’ve just received these images from the workshop of Hamilton & Inches in Edinburgh. The Ltd edition piece of Shine candelabra is a one-off piece (to date) I have created for Lab Craft. The piece has been an extreme labour of love with amazing collaborations from Powderhall Fine Art Founders (bronze casters) and the naturally Hamilton & Inches (silver platers). The piece is a version of the 2005 piece of the same name. Please see this previous post for the WIP video and images of the production. Also today the nice people of 3DDC sent me this image of the new Cross-Fire Knife I have also created for Lab Craft. The knife conception-ally is not any different from the pieces shown during the Future Craft exposition however as I am only showing 1 piece of cutlery I decided to created an over-sized version. This piece is around 50cm long and as 3DDC referred to it, it does have the physical presence of a sword. Just a final note to thank 3DDC for the sterling (silver) job, the surface finish is perfect. This piece is an one-off however I still have this niggle in the back of my mind to make a whole cutlery set all over 1m long, one day perhaps…
